Common Questions

Below are answers to questions we frequently receive about our services. If you don't find what you're looking for, please don't hesitate to contact us.

What services do you offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of tailoring and repair services, including alterations (hemming, waist adjustments, sleeve shortening), repairs (torn seams, zipper replacement, button replacement), and custom tailoring for both casual and formal wear. We work with all types of garments from everyday clothing to wedding dresses and formal suits.

How much do your services cost?

Our pricing varies depending on the complexity of the work required and the garment type. Simple alterations like hemming trousers typically start from $25, while more complex work such as restructuring a jacket might cost $80-120. We provide detailed quotes after examining your garment in person, ensuring you know exactly what to expect before any work begins.

What is your turnaround time?

Our standard turnaround time is 7-10 business days, though this can vary depending on our current workload and the complexity of the alterations. For simple alterations, we offer an express service (48-72 hours) for an additional fee. For wedding attire or other formal wear, we recommend allowing at least 2-4 weeks for alterations, especially during peak wedding season.

Do I need an appointment?

While walk-ins are welcome for simple alterations and repairs, we strongly recommend scheduling an appointment for custom tailoring work, formal wear alterations, and more complex projects. This ensures our master tailor can dedicate sufficient time to your needs. You can book an appointment through our contact form or by calling us directly.

What should I bring to my fitting?

For alterations, bring the garment that needs work along with the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear with it. This is especially important for formal wear, as shoe height can significantly impact hemline requirements. For custom tailoring consultations, bring any fabric samples or design inspiration you have, as well as examples of styles you like.

Do you work with all types of fabrics?

Yes, our experienced tailors are skilled in working with a wide variety of fabrics, from delicate silks and laces to heavy wools, leather, and specialty technical fabrics. We have specialized equipment and techniques for each fabric type to ensure the best results.

Can you alter clothing that wasn't purchased from you?

Absolutely! We can alter any garment regardless of where it was purchased. We frequently work with ready-to-wear items from retail stores, vintage finds, and heirloom pieces. Our goal is to make your clothing fit perfectly, whatever its origin.

How many fittings will I need?

The number of fittings depends on the complexity of the work. Simple alterations typically require just a single fitting for measurements, followed by pickup when the work is complete. More complex alterations might need 2-3 fittings to ensure perfect results. Custom tailoring projects generally require 3-4 fittings throughout the creation process.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, EFTPOS, all major credit cards, and bank transfers for larger orders. A 50% deposit is required to begin work on custom tailoring projects, with the balance due upon completion. For standard alterations and repairs, payment is due in full upon pickup.

Do you offer any guarantees on your work?

Yes, we stand behind the quality of our work. If you're not completely satisfied with any alteration or repair, please bring the garment back within 14 days of pickup, and we'll make adjustments at no additional cost. Our custom tailoring includes up to two rounds of minor adjustments within 30 days of completion.
